I currently have 2 PTZ IP cameras running, one is on the front of my garage. (POE)
A SUNBA Illuminati(POE) is on the rear corner of the house. Have not thought about where I will put the 3rd camera, possibly on the rear of the garage it is Non POE.
I also have a 4 port HIKvision NVR.
These are more critter cams then the are for security. My question is more on the network side of things.
1) I could just let the cameras join my current network on the 192.168.X.X segment, I have the cameras on x.x.x.240 -242, the NVR is on x.x.x.245 this allows the cameras to be accessible via the WWW although this is NOT needed.
2) I have another 4 port wireless router that I could put the cameras and NVR on some obscure segment like 99.102.4.XXX or what ever, main thing is it would be totally separate from my home network, and I could always log into it should I want remote access to the cameras with out going to the NVR. I could also run a cable to the second router if so desired.
