Hi, I have a NVR 4208-8P-4KS2 and just did a basic setup/config on my test bench. At 1st, I did not have the ethernet connected, so the wizard did not fully complete.

Anyway, I connect to it via my laptop browser. I started with Chrome. When I login, it shows the Web service and Preview tab, but says to download the Chrome App. I did this and it added Easy Viewer to my apps.

I also tried logging into the NVR with IE, but it also says to install the chrome app.

I am able to get to the interface using the Easy Viewer launched from Chrome. But, how can I create a shortcut to go to it directly with Easy Viewer?

I am also considering which Android app to install on my phone. Is gDMMS Plus the best option? How do I get my NVR and my phone configured to make it happen?

Thanks

The question about connecting through a bridge is yes. You will have to give the cams a static IP in the 10.1.x.x range ..whatever pool your built in POE cams are running on. When you go to add them and search for them, they may or may not show up, if they do not , you have the option of manually adding them through the interface. Pale moon is a good browser to use to access the web interface on your NVR. If you are going to use the built in DHCP on the NVR then all cams must be in that range or subnet. The 192.168.x.x will only be used for the management port. The NVR will not allow you to have your cams and Management port on the same subnet if you are utilizing the built in poe.

Thanks for that info.

While his answer seems unrelated, I edited my original posting because I asked two separate questions. I moved the network question to this thread...
Help a newb with camera network questions.

I will quote your response there.

I had not heard of Pale Moon - will check it out.

Still have my NVR questions:).

I have gDMMS Plus working on my local wifi, but I am not quite sure how to configure it for access remotely when I am not at home.
