I’ve just installed some Dahua IP Cameras. However the last camera doesn’t want to work. I’ve tested each end of the Cat5e cable with a tester and all 8 cores are in the correct order at both ends. I also tried the camera on a ready made patch lead plugged into a different port on the NVR and into the camera, done a device search and still nothing. So I’m not sure if it’s the cable that’s perhaps at fault or the camera itself. The other 3 I have are fine.

Any help or advice would be great.

Thank you.

You don't mention the camera model, but they may have a removeable panel for an SD card. Usually there is also a reset button in there. With the camera powered up, attached to a PoE source or 12 volt wall wart, press and hold that reset button for about 15 seconds. That will reinitialize the camera back to factory default for you.

Alternately, try powering the camera with a 12 volt wall wart. That will show you if the PoE board, inside the camera, is the problem I had a brand new 5442 turret that wouldn't power from PoE but worked fine with an external power source.

Given that it has an SD card slot, have a look for the access door and see if there's a reset button there as well. The button will be pretty tiny and a toothpick can be handy to press it.

Ive seen there is a reset flap that has two screws. I don’t want to void the warranty as I only got them last week. So I may just send it back. Is there a way to test my cable to make sure that it’s not that.

I seriously doubt you'd void your warranty taking off that flap which is designed, by Dahua, to be removed by the end user to provide access to the SD slot and the reset button.

If you've tested it with a premade cable, preferably not one that came with your kit, and it doesn't work then the cable can probably be safely eliminated as the cause.

I would do what Sebastian says and Reset the Camera to factory and then see if you can ping it 192.168.1.108
I will give that a try. Is there any specific instructions that I need to follow as I just plugged the others into the NVR and clicked on Add Camera.

Press the RESET button and power the camera on and make sure you hold the reset button for around 10-15 seconds this should reset the camera back to Factory default.

So connect one PoE end to the camera the other for the NVR. Then hold the reset button?

If that doesn’t work for example, I what would be the next step to check?

Do you have Dahua Toolbox installed on your PC I can jump on through Teamviewer to take a look if you wanted.

I don’t have that installed. I will install that when I get home from work.

Ive installed Dahua Tool Box. On the Config Tool I can only see the NVR on my Network, no Cameras are showing despite being plugged into the NVR. I am on an Apple Macbook Pro. If someone could walk me through it that would be great.

Does anyone know how I can change the port on my IP Camera, when I add it its choosing the port as 3777 and not Port 3.

Don’t manually add it. Let it move from top to bottom pane by itself. Can take a few minutes.

Unplug it, delete it from the top the top pane, then plug back in and wait for it to appear on bottom.

Ive done that, Ive unplugged it, deleted it and then when I connect each end of the rj45 cat5e cable it finds the camera, but it doesnt say Port 3 as all of the other cameras say Port 1 this says 3777.
