PTZ Motion Tracking?

I cannot figure out how to configure the motion tracking setting on two of my PTZ cameras. I recently purchased a new home which came with an Alibi NVR and 3 Alibi dome cameras. There are also 2 PTZ cameras, which do not appear to be Alibi. The cameras detect and follow motion and I would like to turn the feature off, especially on the camera that is at the front of the home facing the road. It constantly attempts to track cars going by. It also does not revert back to a “home” position and frequently ends up stuck in a position facing the siding of the house. The NVR shows the cameras have the model number DS-2ZMN2006. I can control the PTZ movement, presets, and other basic settings through the NVR as well as through the IP address in a web browser. I see no option for changing the motion tracking setting. There is “motion detection” but switching it on/off doesn’t help the tracking. Initially, the ptz camera at the back of the home did not track movement, just the cam at the front of the home. I’ve played around with all kinds of settings, PTZ protocols, etc. attempting to find the difference in settings between the two cameras and somewhere along the way I must have activated the motion tracking on the second camera. Now both cameras track motion. I’m pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to turn it off. I love the PTZ function but I don’t want it to track motion. I want it parked in one position unless I take over the controls.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the ip/online userface. Anyone know where the auto tracking settings would be?

I’m new to security cameras so please bear with me! I’m really hoping someone can help me out here!!

look thru the menu to reset the camera to defaults... taking note that the IP address remains Static before resetting it.
I have this menu on my PTZ that your showing. It's been the bane of my existence. I tried getting presets loaded so it would "tour" but only wanted it to turn to other activated cams. " Poormans Auto track" Anyway.....If you can clear out all the PTZ presets, it should go back to manual operation.
I have not looked up your cam model number to see if it inherently comes with Auto-track.

Thanks Flintstone61 for the suggestion. Glad I’m not the only one with this daunting menu. I have tried resetting both cameras to default while keeping IP address static. I believe this is when the second camera started auto-tracking motion. Only one of the cameras was tracking motion before the reset. All of the presets were cleared but the auto-tracking continues. Under the system settings, the product info is IPD-D53M02 series. I’m not sure if this is the camera model (Jidetech)? I’ve searched around and it seems like it’s a cheap Chinese PTZ camera. The camera works excellent with my Alibi NVR, I just wish I could figure out how to disable the auto-tracking. I know it’s possible because as I mentioned before, once I started tweaking the settings one of the cameras auto-tracked motion while the other did not.

I wonder if there is a setting you can toggle on/off in the NVR that is aggravating the auto tour or auto track based on motion. Or if you turn the sensitivity way down if it stops moving.
think I have a similar cam. No auto track, optics are very clear as a 2MP with 16-20x zoom. but not easily tunable with the hieroglyphic user interface. Part of my painful learning curve.
its better off as a static camera 98% of the time.

Aside from the motion tracking issues, when I’m using PTZ and zoom in to a target, after 5 seconds the camera zooms back out automatically. I’ve seen this feature/setting on other ip cameras (i.e. hikvision), setting park time, etc. I see no such options in the camera’s user interface. I’m wondering if connecting the camera directly to my router instead of the NVR will give me any other options in the user interface? The camera definitely has auto/motion tracking capability. I just want to turn the darn thing off and park the camera in a zoomed in location. I don’t need any alarms set for the PTZ’s, my dome cams have line crossing set up. I want the PTZ’s to act like the dome cams and just control the PTZ’s at my convenience. This is much more complicated than it should be lol.

Try eliminating the NVR? just connect it to the switch. no switch? or is it a router/switch combo? If the NVR was Powering the cam then you need a power source for the cam.
but yeah, maybe it'll stop acting like a Meth head needing a fix.

Can you delete the camera's in the NVR, and let the NVR " refind them? Is ONVIF switched on? in both the NVR and the Cam?
Some NVR's won't play nice with other hardware. Period.

Right!!! I thought the auto tour was likely the culprit but I’ve changed the tour and action inputs to different things and nothing has helped. ONVIF is on in both the cam and NVR. I’ll try deleting them and let the NVR refind them.

I'm thinkin the Alibi or whatever it is...is maybe part of the problem.
You could go thru hell,,,,,and set all the Calls to the same view. Set it where you want. then go preset 1, 2, set, 3 set, 4 set, 5 set, until your fingers fall off. then it has no options except your presets. which wil be fully populated, and all on the same view.
Lets see that motherfucker wander after that ! HMPF

At this point I’ll give anything a shot. I think it would still track motion though, but at least it might return to the preset zoomed in position instead of getting stuck facing the side of the house :banghead:

Trying to bypass the NVR by plugging the cam directly into my router but I can’t seem to access the cam UI via the IP address in a web browser. Nothing loads when I type in the IP address. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG :banghead::banghead:
