And you are using the exact same admin and password as the main login to the NVR?
 
Modem doesn’t put out PoE so no it won’t. No need to do anything else with modem/router.

The NVR sees it and assigns it an IP 10.1.1.67 and green dot says it can communicate with it.
I don’t have an answer why the NVR password won’t work given this
 
so how can i get to cam to set the password OTHER than via nvr cos pencil tells nvr what pw to use with cam .. but cam seems to hold another pw in spite of tool pushbutton reset
 
Have you messed with network settings in the NVR in any way? How about that camera?

Some piece of the puzzle is missing
 
no i followed what wiittaj said , plugged cam straight into nvr from carboard box
i got pic in nvr proper
tried to get to it via ie & it didnt want to know
my other cam inspite of all this booting resetting is fine & can always log in via ie

ps i can put 12v to cam & plug into modem like other ip cams , but cant seem to see the cams OWN ip address

so my mouse as last resort is looking at that dahua config tool sat on my desktop eeek
any other way to TELL the camera what its goddamn paswword is going to be !
 
You can try, it cant break it any worse at this point.
 
It wont see the camera if its on the NVR PoE switch I dont think?
 
with prev tvt cam if i put 12v to it , i could plug it into my modem & log into the cams secret menu , is the dahua different animal ?
 
In theory, but If you cant login to it it wont matter
 
well i tried it & i couldnt hear it reset even though got 12v attached other cams can be seen but this cam hides itself & is hell bent on keeping its own pw

ps ip config was used for the nvr when i first got it so no use.
 
I'd run over there an mess with it myself but its a bit of a trip and your country unfortunately would likely jail me for mean tweets :rofl:

so is there some other completely start at basics test to find that thing wrong thats staring at us
