The official "WTF" thread

This is crazy....

It's 95°F at 5:00PM CDT here in NW Alabama....can you imagine how hot it would be at some southern border to Mexico? And there in there for hours with no water? No wonder some die in the process.

When caught and if convicted the the smugglers should be placed in there and taken on a 4 or 5 hour trip along I-10 between Phoenix, AZ and Indio, CA between 2PM and 6PM in July or August....with no water. FWIW, it's a perfect 102°F at both those locations at this moment....perfect for deep-frying human traffickers.

back then when mcdonalds was affordable

And gas averaged about $1.20 per gallon across the nation then too so it figures.....

The past two days we've had a crew installing fibre internet in the subdivision. Most of the crew are of latino descent. Friday & Saturday here we had a high of 96, with a heat index of 110.
Most of the crew were wearing long sleeve shirts. None of them were perspiring. They were doing a lot of hand digging with shovels. They were continually out in the heat from 7:30am to approx 6pm. This gringo would have melted and had to have been scrapped up off the ground.

Will you be getting it or ????
If so, is this a step-up for you?

We got our 1GB down/up fiber with static, public IP in Sept. of '22 and man, it's been great....rock steady, too.

Of course, just about anything would be an "upgrade" to what we had....akin to 2 Dixie cups and a string!

The Ranchers/Farmers out here wear long sleeves too. Where the term Redneck came from...the rest of them is covered...:) Your sweat keeps you cool...

Yes, I will be getting it after 4 yrs of delays. It's small privately held company and can't wait to get away from the horribly expensive Astound mega crapola.
At&t put in fibre at the end of our street, but they won't come up any further with it, so screw em.

And no one even remotely thought of working there as a lifelong career decision.....
Oh, you are so very right. Maybe 1 out of maybe a thousand would have. I hate to say it but I have a 22 year old step-granddaughter that would likely consider it a career goal TODAY.

Flipping thru Google Shorts, came across this. I have always heard people say Florida was a huge sandbar but did not know so much of Florida's elevation is this low. We live at 354 feet of elevation which is higher than Florida's highest elevation of 345. Crazy...

It is pretty sandy in my yard so I get to build sand castles whenever I want. LOL. I'm at 59 feet of elevation. The Cumbre Vieja tsunami hazard is said to possibly send a wave at around 33 feet by the time it hits the east coast of the US. Not really sure how far inland a tsunami like that would go due to friction once on land.

We have sandy loom where we live, crazy, dig down about a foot or so and you hit clay...makes you wonder how sand got this far North.

When I lived in Santa Barbara, CA....drive up into the mountains to around 1,000 ft elevation and find seashells.

We are going later this year to see The Ark:

This one I call "WTF is wrong with people". Watch the video until the end. It just highlights that mental illness exists everywhere.
I wonder what the outcome of this will be? I hope we hear about it when it happens. Hope those two get the book thrown at them.

Officer: You've been trespassed, and you need to leave

AG: You can't make us leave unless we've been notified we're trespassing

Officer: Did you hear what I just said?

Either she (and her friend) are on a power trip, or they're drunk... and on a power trip. If you an AG.. then you should know better!

Would be interested to hear why the restaurant staff wanted them out. The brief dialog with officer, the staff sounded pretty frazzled with those two.

Typical elitist bitches.... "Do you know who I am?!?!?"
