This PTZ has worked very well (over 3 years) until the building got a lightening strike. Took out this PTZ and the nvr. We installed a new nvr and when we plugged in this ptz all the cameras that werte up crashed.
I have a test meter that can do a little more than wire mapping and looking toward the camera i had red lines on pairs 1'2 - 7'8 so maybe it could have been powerd by 24v connector but better to sell a newer model than rig it.
The actual cable tested good via wiremap function.
This is an older model PTZ and helped the police catch a local punk that they recognized when it zoomed in on his face.
....did i mention i hate installing ptz cameras? It's a question of can we use a corner mount, a pendent mount and or a seperate box for the connections (like we did in this picture) vs trying to connectorize it inside the building.
PTZ's are great for their intended use. I love the way they track. ....i hate to mount them.
