Hi Fenderman. That much is clear. But identifying a passive mic is not easy... in fact I thought this was one. Most mic's for sale that I've find do not explicitly say that they can be used passively or require power. Do you happen to have some example that might work?

Ok. Looks like an option... but there are Mic's that do not require power correct? That would be preferable. I don't think I could fit all that stuff in the junction box behind the camera

Ah. OK. I figured it was something like that. I will pull the garage cable out of the NVR POE port and just plug it into my normal LAN switch and Manually add them. So follow-up question since I haven't manually added cameras before... Once I do this, I will need to assign it an IP in SADP...

Will try that. Out of curiosity, have you found a wire stripper that works well with these wires? I have no less then 4 wire strippers and none are small enought to strip these tiny wires. I did it with a razor.

Yep. Double checked that. Yeah, I thought about a mic level input but from what I've read, people seem to find power mic's significantly better and it wasn't difficult to get power to it in the mounting location. Just difficult to get it to work at all :)
