My experience with a "vipcam" A192V2N01

I checked out LiveCams Pro tonight and managed to get all three cameras working with it, including one from D-Link. This is going to be my primary app from now on.

Nope. You can view the cam without using the manufacturer’s app, using a program like VLC. I tried the latter yesterday and found the localization to be so horrendous that I couldn’t be bothered the continue using it. CamHi seems to be pretty good, though. Thanks for the tip. You can...

Yeah, I'm still using mine. I also picked up this EasyN 187. The web interface looks different than the vipcam's, but the RTSP URL is identical and it behaves very similar. So far no problems. It saves the video as ordinary AVI files that open in VLC, unlike the vipcam. The vipcam app is broken...

Yeah, my cam has the same 15 digit ID. I use the vipcam app, but might check out the other one you suggested. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ahh, much different camera. This is mine. I sort of doubt that the firmware is identical, even though the web interface might be similar. I'll check it out. I wouldn't even need their app (which requires P2P to be enabled) if the video files weren't saved in some strange proprietary...

If you don't mind, could you provide me with this contact information? if you don't feel comfortable doing so in public, feel free to PM me. Do you have a picture of the cam? I'm wondering if it's the same model as mine. In what context have you deployed 22 of these? I'm slightly curious...

Does anyone have an idea if this camera supports power over Ethernet? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I bought the SD card when I found out the camera wouldn't upload to an FTP server without one. The camera sends an email to me and saves videos/pictures to a local FTP server, as well as the SD card. I can then login to that server via sftp anywhere I'm at to see what's going on without using...

My experience with a "vipcam" A192V2N01

An update to the iOS app was released last night that fixes the white screen issue. I also just noticed today that the firmware update toggled on nonstop recording, so that's something people should look out for. Jorabi, do you know what happens when the SD card is filled up? Is it smart...

Or maybe your version of the firmware was pulled. Hard to say since there’s no way to contact anyone [emoji38] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

My experience with a "vipcam" A192V2N01

I decided to the take the plunge and update the firmware. I've had nerve-racking experiences installing unofficial firmware on devices before, but this was the first time I had a similar feeling with "official" firmware. The good news is that the camera still works and most of my settings were...

One thing I forgot to mention, you might need to disable Google's blocking of "less secure apps."

Here's the settings I'm using for GMail: SMTP server name: smtp.gmail.com Server port: 465 Safe link: SSL Authentication: On Username should include @gmail.com at the end. I might do the update, but something about me is still hesitant  Not having successive shots is so incredibly brain...

I have e-mail working with GMail, so maybe you just need to tweak the settings depending on your provider. Does the new firmware send/record successive shots when motion is detected or only one? Did you notice any improvements in terms of its motion sensing, or basically the same as before? Can...

Does your router support DDNS? That might be a better option. Alternatively, if you have any devices running on your network 24-7 you could install a DDNS client on one of them. That's my approach. I moved to Duck DNS when dyndns quit offering their service for free. Once you create a subdomain...
