So is that the cloud service not receiving a heartbeat from the doorbell and freaking out? If so it seems like that would happen every time you lost power to the doorbell. I like the idea of getting a notification that it lost connection (ie if somebody ripped it off the wall or something) but...

Or maybe with an external IR illuminator if you didn't want visible light on the porch (assuming you can disable the onboard IR LEDs.)

Have you tried out the two way comms yet? Not my primary reason for buying but just wondering - can you have a clear conversation with somebody? Is the doorbell microphone and speaker adequate? Is it laggy/delayed?

Samsung - responded in like two hours on Sat. Still very little info out on it but you can find a little more by searching for Wisenet or Hanwha Techwin. Looks like Sams has it on their website as part of a bundle with other Samsung cameras. Some YouTube videos on features and installation...

While we wait... Anybody seen this Samsung/Wisenet D1 doorbell camera that was just released? Touts several smart features like facial recognition and abnormal sound alerts like glass breaking. Avail on HSN of all places but supposed to hit amazon and Sams club in October. No idea if onvif...
