Right, but if my night gain is set to 60-80 and this range causes flickering with the same shutter speed, why would I expect things to get better when it gets.. darker?

My bigger concern on this is that I can see the behavior if I flip over to night mode as well. I assume this means using the high gain may be causing my plate clarity issues. Anyone have a recommended firmware revision I should use?

Don't know if this is going too far off topic for this thread but i'm seeing some serious oscillation/flickering right around sunset. Definitely related to high gain greater than 50. Anyone else seeing this?

I need it tilted down say 10 degrees and to the left 30 degrees. The bracket on the light I have only supports up/down or left/right. Assuming I mount the bracket horizontal or vertical. In reality the height of the board where it is attached limits any diagonal mounting.

Final thought of today, I have an ID10T error, if you know what that is you get bonus points. Anyways, I turned my shutter speed up to 1/100 last night, zoomed out, and played with my camera IR and off-axis IR. My off-axis is aimed too low. It's hitting the middle of my lawn and maybe just...

Just had another car pass. Plate isn't reflecting enough light back. Could my off axis light be the issue? Should the light come from nearer the camera? @wittaj Getting there, this was picked up with 83% confidence and was accurate on plate recognizer. That's a rear shot. You can see it's still a bit blurry and not super bright. This was with the following:

@Bitslizer its ~150-160 ft. The other issue is I've got the BI18 significantly off axis rather than near my camera. ~40 feet away.

It's the one cam I run at 30 fps. I could just keep the footage more disposable unless there's an alert, but I'd prefer to have the LPR just be a series of 10 second clips of motion rather than hours of nothing. I live at the end of a dead end, not extremely busy
