Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

I can confirm after choosing "Shut-down" and waiting over 30 minutes it never actually shuts-down as far as the power supply fan still remains operating at it's normal speed indefinitely. You are definitely right it is intended to run 24/7/365. I just find it odd that the NVR has a physical...

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

My NVR5216-16P-4KS2E does the same thing. Which leads me to believe it is normal for these NVRs, but it definitely isn't normal for any other piece of computer equipment. As for the idea above it is "cooling itself down" before fully shutting down - I'm testing now. I am interested to hear how...

Just used my iPhone with "Decibel X" app. I'm sure it's not perfect but it's good enough for what I needed. The room I tested in was pretty quiet, ambient sound was 40-41dB. Which is considered a "quiet room". I just measured from directly in front of the NVR @ 6", 2' and 6'. There was minimal...

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

The smart fan appears to only be in the latest POE versions of the NVR. The speed settings only affect the smart fan which is the 4-pin connected case fan. Power supply fan runs at the same speed regardless of fan speed settings in NVR menu.

The case fan seems to be the one that causes a "whine" when at high speed. For me I'm going with the stock fans for now. Edit - additional info: Here are the decibel readings I get from the NVR5216-16P-4KS2E with stock fans from 6", 2', 6' away respectively. Fan set at "Self-adaptation"...

I would be surprised if they weren't the same, since the specs between the 5216 and 5416 are so close. Updated: This NVR does have a "smart fan" setup. As internal (CPU) temperature rises the case fan RPM increases. When I was testing with just one camera hooked up the CPU temperature sat...

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 / NVR5216-16P-4KS2

Just ordered a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E NVR. I have read on this forum that the fans in this latest model POE version are both 12v. Can someone open their's up and give me the dimensions/specs or make/model of the oem fans installed. I'd like to make sure whatever I replace them with is the correct size.
