    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E Soft Focus?

Sorry, to clarify, I use auto focus to get the frame in focus, then I switch to manual focus and make minor adjustments so the area where the plates are will be most in focus. However after a few days, it always shifts slightly and I have keep going back and refocusing it. I do understand that...

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E Soft Focus?

We have 4 IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E cameras setup as LPRs. One of our main cameras has developed soft focus in day mode. If I get the center of the frame in focus, the surrounding parts of the frame are slightly out of focus. I also notice the focus tends to shift by itself after a few days sometimes as...

App recommendations to view camera footage

Gotcha, unfortunately we don't have the ability to run Blue Iris on a computer at this time, so I'm looking for app recommendations to be able to log directly into cameras to review footage recorded to the SD card.

App recommendations to view camera footage

Is it possible to use BI app to directly connect to cameras if you do not have a dedicated machine running Blue Iris?

App recommendations to view camera footage

Hi all, Our neighborhood has Amcrest and Dahua cameras recording to an Amcrest NVR. While it is certainly functional and works with the Amcrest View Pro iOS app, it's not the easiest to quickly look up events that occurred. The Amcrest Surveillance Pro macOS app is also not the best. What are...

    Placement for LPR cameras

It is roughly 60 feet to the main road, and 80 feet to the entrance gate based on google estimates +/- 20 feet or so. If we mount at 9-10 feet, would that be too high for LPR to be effective? We actually have an existing pole that is about 3-3.5" tall, but it easily gets blocked by opposing...

    Placement for LPR cameras

Hi all, I posted this in the installation forum but folks noted it might be better to post here, so I am reposting here! We are looking to add 2 wide and 2 LPR cameras to help capture plates of cars entering and leaving the subdivision. Here are the most important shots 1) Rear plate of cars...

Does anyone have experience with the new Amcrest NV4216-AI?

That's an amazing explanation..thank you for making it so clear! For my use case, i just need to make sure the incoming bandwidth is sufficient I suppose.

My Dahua camera is suddenly stuck in b&w... (And what settings do you use in day for ALPR?)

Following..mine is stuck in B&W as well, and it's brand new. I have another one setup nearby that switches to color in the daytime just fine, and the settings are exactly the same.

Does anyone have experience with the new Amcrest NV4216-AI?

The rep noted that recording is not limited, only streaming. For us, we don't actively monitor the footage anywhere. I might pull up the app to check live on a few cameras to see what's happening, but we primarily only go back to review footage if an incident happened. In this case, do you think...

Does anyone have experience with the new Amcrest NV4216-AI?

Our neighborhood has several Amcrest cameras for our security camera system. We were planning on buying the Amcrest NV5216 NVR but saw there's a similarly priced new NV4216-AI that includes AI capabilities. I asked Amcrest what the differences were, and if there were any downsides going with...

Sighthound ALPR - Free - Seven Day Retention

I figured something out..I had it at 500 shutter speed with minimal false detections at night. i upped it to 1000 shutter speed and got a false detection every 20-30 seconds. Not sure why
