I would definitely try another card first. Most issues with dash cameras are related to the memory card. Avoid SanDisk. Have you tried starting the camera without the card inside? Also, don't use a computers USB port to test the camera. Those ports don't supply enough power for the camera...

Next time you go to start your car, unplug the camera first, then plug it back in after car has started. If that does work, try it a few times to confirm it wasn't a fluke and reort back.

Actually the GS98C is not a capacitor camera. The C just means is has the A7LA70 chipset. Dome doesn't make any dash cameras with a capacitor at the moment.
