    Blue Iris UI3

So, I recently started having an issue where I cannot download clips via UI3 anymore. All I get is a download failed error. It worked up until about a week ago. I tried updating BI and restarting the computer, no change. Tried restarting the mobile devices trying to download the clips and no...

    Blue Iris UI3

I just updated to 5.9.9.27 because it was overdue anyway. Nothing useful under the log, though I noticed it detected Intel graphics. I don't know if it would help or not, but these are the settings I'm using under the cameras. They're all Dahua from Andy.

    Blue Iris UI3

I just had time to do some tests. Removing the substream does solve the issue and it looks pretty good, however the problem returns when I put the substream back. It appears to be doing this on all 8 cameras. I did find one with the smart codec enabled and I turned it off but it didn't effect...

Here's 3 out of 8. I have a mixture of 2mp and 4mp cameras so I gave you my two important 4mp and one of the 2mp. The rest should match these.

    Blue Iris UI3

I think that's the problem because when I go full screen on any of the cameras the quality never goes over to main, it just stays looking bad. On the pc running the cameras you can see it switch over to main and it goes from the way my UI3 looks on my phone to fantastic.

    Blue Iris UI3

Switching between main and substreams might just be me remembering what BI does rather than what I see on my phone. Here's the Streaming 0 profile. I just tried it on my son's ipad and it seemed like it was the exact same as my phone. Low quality and motion makes it worse. I think I need...

    Blue Iris UI3

I was going to start a new thread because I don't know what I have going on is a bug, or my stupidity but I'm fairly sure it's UI3 related. For a long time I was running all of my cameras on H265 but I recently changed to 264 for both main and substreams. I feel like ever since I did that...

IPC-HDW5442T-ZE New cam from Dahua :)

I'm going to ask a really dumb question but, do typical switches and nics even have the grounding needed for shielded cat5 or 6 to work? It looks like the RJ45's are shielded as well. I don't recall seeing that on the jacks of my switches, but I also never really looked.

@David L My main complaint with cat 6 is terminating it. I mean, I can and do, but cat5 is so much easier.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever used shielded ethernet wire before for anything. Never had a need that I was aware of at least. All of mine is cat5e unshielded. When did shielded cat6 become recommended?

Does that 8MP have the same low light sensitivity as the older 4MP 5442?

    IR illuminator life vs level?

I don't need more than the cameras can give. At least not in the situation I posted about. I was just concerned running them manually higher through the settings could shorten they're life a lot. But I have also considered other external options as well. If there's recommendations on IR...

    IR illuminator life vs level?

Has anyone experienced failures of the built in illuminators from running them too high? Basically... Is there any harm in cranking the level up when it's beneficial?

18tb drive not showing up in disk management

Well The plot thickens. I plugged a flashdrive into the computer to save my blue iris configuration and found out it wouldn't install drivers for any flashdrive or external hard drive I have. Every one of them gave a error 28 I think? Windows would act like it was installing the driver...

18tb drive not showing up in disk management

So The 18tb drive is working just fine in a I5-12400 system. Apparently older systems / sata controllers may not play nice with larger drives, I don't know. The system it doesn't want to work in is a I5-4570.
