is tailscale safter than a VPN?

I use it. I just upgraded my firewall appliance this weekend. I'm running Opnsense on a mini PC. Tailscale was quicker and way easier to setup than OpenVPN (which I had been using for years on another router). I was up and running in about 30min. I may go back to OpenVPN at some point but so far...

    NGROK Questions

I'll give that a try! I've ran into it a couple places (a couple Holiday Inn resorts). I usually just hot spot my laptop to my phone for a work around.

    NGROK Questions

Sounds like I'll just stick with Open VPN for now. I was hoping to figure out something different because some places (hotels etc,) block Open VPN connections on their networks.

    NGROK Questions

I see a lot of updates pertaining to NGROK on Blue Iris. What is NGROK for Blue Iris? What is the benefits vs something like open vpn etc. Is there an updated setup guide? I know absolutely nothing. But I do like to access my Blue Iris remotely when I'm away.

Am I doing this right? (Continuous Recording)

My CPU usage went down actually. I was running 12-18% CPU and now I run 2-3%. It will jump up if I have a bunch of triggered cams but it never goes above 25%. I run 22 cams on an I-5 w/ 32 gig ram and 12tb hd

    New Install Camera Identification conundrum

That's why I have my cameras on static IPs. I have a set range for my cameras so I know where to start looking. For example 192.168.0.0xx and my Blue Iris Server sits at a static IP as well. Everything else in the house with the exception of my printer is DHCP. It just makes things way...

Am I doing this right? (Continuous Recording)

OK, I decided to go continuous after getting frustrated with recordings being stopped or missing this with motion detection. I've got a decent size Blue Iris system with 21 Cams all 4mp and above except for 2 of them. All are set to continuous sub + trigger. I do use sub streams and capture...

    Dahua Door Bell

My camera arrived. Now, bear in mind, mine is the wired POE version. It works great with my 20 cam (now 21 cam) Blue Iris setup. The image is great and the phone app seems to work well too. It comes with a detached doorbell wall wart that works off bluetooth. It synced up w/o any effort. I...

    Questions About Continuous Recording

That's what I want to hear. I use subs. Now....I have a couple cameras I don't need 24/7 recording. Can those individual cameras still do triggered? Thanks for your help so far btw

    Questions About Continuous Recording

OK! My 20 camera system would trash it if I continuously recorded all 20 cams LOL So when I switch to continuous which mode should I choose? Continuous, Continuous + triggered, Continuous + alerts? I also use deep stack btw.

    Questions About Continuous Recording

I have a Blue Iris system running on a Dell PC. I currently have 500gb internal SSD and a 4tb SATA HD. I have 20 cameras (primarily 4 and 5 mb Dahua). I'm using motion triggers to capture events. But I would like to go continuous. I realize I have a pretty large pool of cameras. I looked at...

    User level access

Is there a way to customize the the "user" access level a little more. Specifically take away the ability to delete or manipulate clips all together. Basically I want the user to be able to view only from the web interface.
