Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

FWIW the code works on both the 2.8mm and the 3.6mm.

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

I have both and the low light performance on the IP5M-T1179EW is definitely better. I chased megapixels on some of my initial cameras rather than looking at the low light performance of them. 4K is nice and all, but really only for daytime or specific locations. The performance at night isn't...

Noob Question on Router & Switch

What address are you using to access the BI machine from other devices? You should be using the NIC1 IP address along with port 81. Something like http://NIC1IPADDRESS:81/ui3.htm Also pretty sure I followed this video:

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

That one is for the IP5M-T1179EW-28MM If you are looking at the IP8M-T2499EW: KPRGYQVS worked on Amazon But there is always the discussion that the T1179EW is going to have better low light performance than the 4K T2499EW. I just wanted to post the code, should anyone want to use it. I for...

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

I think I remember the post, but I think it related to not being able to see the IP5M-T1179EW-28MM within the Amcrest app or maybe even when it had been flashed to Dahua Firmware and not being able to see it in the Dahua app. FYI Dahua is the manufacturer of many of these cameras where they are...

Noob Question on Router & Switch

So would you say stunnel is just as safe as a vpn since you are establishing that SSL connection?

Noob Question on Router & Switch

As @reflection stated it can be done with stunnel, I had setup issues with it, mostly in being able to get an SSL Certificate generated. The other caveat is you have to turn on port forwarding, which for some is a big no no. I just wanted to mention that since you are still deciding on how you...

Long time lurker, first time poster

Yeah I have two of those currently. Still working on my night settings to get the best results. My other two are the $100ish 8MP Amcrests -IP8M-T2499EW.

Long time lurker, first time poster

I just flashed all my Amcrest cams to Dahua firmware. I won't take advantage of the new features since I use Blueiris, but with the 5MP I am on the edge of the Starlight spectrum, so I am happy about that.

Considering a move from Arlo to wired IP cameras

+1 On these. I just got started and am itching to add more!! As you will find from others, do your research on cameras!!! And don't chase resolution aka 4K. Just because you have a higher resolution you may not get the results you need for a particular location. I am finding that out the...

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

I knew I had read it on here somewhere. I was able to find the post. There's a bit to read, but I think can give you some ideas of what you will get if you move to the Dahua firmware. Also would probably only benefit you if you use an NVR that takes advantage of those features. From what I...

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

I am pretty new to a lot of this, but this is what I "think" I have learned: Amcrest 5MP UltraHD Sensor Size: 1/2.7" Resolution: 5MP or 2592 x 1944 Min Illumination: 0.008 Lux @ F1.6 FOV: H: 103° / V: 71°/ D: 132° Firmware: Amcrest Specific but can be flashed to Dahua Firmware Loryta...
