No I don't want an alarm sounded or the authorities called, I just want to know if someone might be in my house, so that I can check out the footage and see what's going on. I can notify the authorities myself if I decide it is the right thing to do.
I'm happy to keep it simple and just record...
Ah..of course!
So maybe put something like this inside the house, which presumably will send me an email notification if movement is detected inside the house, at which point I can log into Blue Iris remotely and take a look at the live feed / recently recorded footage and see what is going...
So I've set up a PC with Blue Iris on it, which is connected to the 3 IP cams around the perimeter of our house:
I'm away from the house for months at a time and this gives me a chance to log in remotely and see whether everything looks okay / house is still there. It means that if I come...
There's doesn't seem to be much mention of the latter camera in this forum. It's a 4MP and it has an aluminium base like the 2335.
I did see some talk about many people being dissappointed with the 4MP hikvision cam's, and saying they are inferior to the 3MP ones. Can anyone confirm their...
Okay I'm starting to see the difficulty of my question
Sounds like 4mm will likely have the best chance of doing what I want, so I might just get one of those and hope for the best..
Thanks ever so much for the thoughts every one!!
I know the placement is not ideal for identifying - but I'm trying to choose the best lens for doing so given the position.
I'm thinking of using a 3MP Hikvision turret cam.
Of course a wide angle lens would capture everything, but with very low detail (especially the more distant sliding...
Truth be told I've already purchased a couple of 2.8mm lens hikvisions - in light of this info it sounds like they're going to be fairly useless. I'm not putting any cameras inside the house, so any other suggestions as to where a 2.8mm (90 degree field of view) camera might be of use?
hmmm...this is good info. I guess I was working off the assumption one should have full coverage...but i guess it's probably not really necessary (not to mention, with such wide lenses mostly useless by the sound of it!)
I'm planning to purchase a bunch of Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I cams to monitor the exterior of our simple rectangular home.
These cameras have a roughly 90 degree field of view (2.8mm lens).
What is the best way to position the cameras for full coverage? Is what I have come up with (see attached...
