    Package Delivery Technique USPS

It's a portrait oriented video, but my editing software only allows landscape. Hence, the time stamp is cropped off top of frame.

    Package Delivery Technique USPS

Was looking through old footage to see how our cameras have progressed over the years. Found this gem from 10 years ago taken by a Hikvision eyeball. Well.... it DID get to the front door.

Rainbow Intensity and Night Scenery on Security Camera.

Rainbows this evening without color adjustment in post processing. As a scenery camera, the EmpireTech Color-4KT is more real than real. Night scenes are way more than one can see by eye alone. The still is at 12:30 (after midnight) and lit only by moonlight. Love it as a scenery and sky camera.

SD49425XB-HNR - Odd spotting on the lens

You are going to pull down the camera to take care of this. Access is via the rear hatch of the sphere. Then you pull the camera module out the rear to access the window. Not safe or practical to do at altitude.

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

Good choice. Truthfully, I was a bit disappointed with going from the old 2MP to the PTZ4M-25X. The night imaging was bad enough that I had to add IR floods whereas previously I didn't need them. Just not sensitive enough on that 4MP on 1/2.8' resolution/sensor size combo.

    SD49425XB-HNR PTZ problems

It this a newly installed unit? Mine are almost always bumped out of position (moved manually) as I adjust the mounting. SOP has become, reboot post install to establish a good baseline position zero.

    SD49425XB-HNR PTZ problems

Here is what the vertical optical sensor and interruptor look like. When PTZ boots, the controller rotates until the interruptor blocks light across the optical sensor. That is how the PTZ board finds the motion limit. Horizontal direction has analogous optical sensor and interruptor. I...

    SD49425XB-HNR PTZ problems

The PTZ mechanism does not have an absolute position encoder. Instead the system does an initial calibration for horizontal and vertical “zero” when PTZ boots. From that point on position is tracked based on stepper motor counts. If anything knocks the camera position or if a motion is hindered...

Andromeda Messier 31 on EmpireTech PTZ5A4M-25X

Set to 250 msec shutter and gain 65 to capture this morning. Companion M110 is just visible as a small smudge above M31

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

Just for fun, I stacked three frames and did non-linear gamma to see what we can get PTZ5A4M-25X. I might have to get some software and do more frames. It's a security camera!!!!? The little companion galaxy starts to show up above the main galaxy.

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

I don't have the cameras in same position, but these two shots tonight via PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X should already give you a good feel for the night time difference. Mind, you the PTZ4M-25X would be even murkier without the extra IR floods. PTZ4M-25X 4MP on less than ideal 1/2.8" sensor...

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

I have several of both models installed. The PTZ5A4M-25X 1/1.8 sensor is sharper even in the day and massively better able to get dim details at night. It really isn’t much of a competition. One is so obviously superior performing that the only reason to buy the 1/2.8 censored one is if one...

More Stars, More Satellites, Plus Andromeda

We didn't have a cloud clearing for the solar eclipse, but the night after, dark conditions made even a glimpse of Milky Way glow possible through wispy clouds. 01:50 into video, numerous satellites are traveling (east) down & across the sky. 02:17 to 02:23 the fuzzy core of Andromeda galaxy...
