Hmm, good question. Haven't really thought about that and the need has not yet come up for me to need a freeze frame image. I will see if I can find time to setup a test and see what happens.
Not that I'm aware of. Turret is only Z or fixed focal length. Z5 and Z12 only come in bullet. Maybe has something to do with the room needed for the optics?
The dahua starlight and other cams have built in sd card slots. I have put some 64gb cards into some of my cameras. Was reading an article and it never occurred to me to look at max write cycles.
Any concerns about the max write lifetime cycles for the sd cards? I have a few types in my...
Finally a break in the rain so I did some experimenting in the back patio. I don't have a light meter so I took a bunch of shots just after the sunset to get an idea of the difference with/without starlight.
There are 3 columns for comparison. Right up front I want to warn you, the 1st...
This is a review of the 8mp NON-Starlight HDW5830R-Z camera. I will also do some side by side comparisons with a 2mp Starlight HDW5231R-Z.

I removed the top lid, cut out a piece of foam core...

Thanks Again!!
And to think, last week I had downloaded some C# code for sunset/sunrise...
As far as built in features, that does seem like the only option. One of these days I will work on setting up an external script to try and start changing it.
I too have shadows tripping my lines. Depends on the day and time of day, but sometimes it can be bad. House/car shadow is not the issue, but the tree shadows, if it's windy, are a killer.
I did just now figure out how to get schedule to work but schedule is very crude and limited. Is that all there is? What is normal? Is there any way to get day/night to be triggered by the light sensor (and have the IR set to off) ?
