Both my friend and I had an ongoing battle with our doorbell cameras for a while now. Had tried to tackle it in one point in time but gave up. August's customer service is quite useless and i don't wanna attempt with Skybells lol
I had checked both our transformers at that point and it was...
only downside about using these dahua ones is they only have 1 hole. if they had 2 holes opposite from each other, i would have probably bought these. But since im looking to run them inline O--------O--------O---------O kind of way, it wouldnt work :( sad face again. back to HD/Lowes it is Lol
theres no place in the world that has direct sun 24/7/365 :O my worry is just the ambient heat for a few months and the few hours of extremely hot direct sun in the summers...
yeah.. i was really hesitant about that idea when someone on the thread suggested it. I had saw other amcrest ones or dahua ones were like in the mid 20s each. HD/Lowes is like little under 7 bux each non-metallic, more for the metal one
After contact w/ amcrest sales, they confirmed there is no j-box compatible with my camera. homedepot round 4" j-box it is ! XD
wonderful ascii art ! love it. makes sense too. thanks !
should i use different size conduit depending on load of cables? was thinkin of just having it easier to keep it all the same. at one point, i may have up to 5 cables

considering primer and white paint for pvc. price jump to metal is quite a bit, especially since i dont have a saw or bender tool.
amcrest j-boxes look like the dahua one people use here.
with good reason, i dont mind using a different cable if you guys think it would be better than the one i...
i can see what you mean. I saw something at home depot that allowing bending at angles outside of the 45 and 90 they have in store, but that bendy attachment is expensive in comparison
i looked into metal conduit. wouldnt that make it even hotter ? some areas will be out of the sun completely...
I guess it was for a double safe way for longevity, considering how strong the sun is in this city. Im sure the PVC will turn color over time too. I did hear that gel-filled cable is tough to work with but it was a recommendation by my friend who lives in the same city. I had originally wanted...
Hi ! first post and new member of this forum. I've been tryin to plan out how to run ethernet wires outside for outdoor PoE cameras and hoping to look towards you guys for some tips/tricks/recommendations
