Since the upgrade I have not been able to get live streaming (to youtube) to work.

Does it matter what firmware the cameras have if you're not using a HIKVISION NVR? and using something like Blue Iris or Milestone? I've seen a few on Aliexpress but I think the firmware was chinese/ hacked.

Thank you for your advice, I thought that might be the case. I was just being cheap :D I don't need Poe ports because I have a 16 Port injector that is used for wifi APs as well. Based on that can someone point me in the direction of the best NVR I should be looking at?

I have a old pc I used at a home theatre PC. It's a Dual core Amd X2 2.7 and 8 gig of ram, I was hoping I could reuse that as a NVR with BlueIris or something similar. I will chuck a WD Purple in it as well. Will it be able to handle 6-8 cameras? or would I be better off getting a HIK NVR?
