Hi Danny, You will need to serial into the motherboard buddy using a jst-sh TTL cable. You can get on ebay. Then you Do a control U during the boot process. From there you can erase the firmware and force tftp download.

Hi Al, For sure its a hacked Chinese firmware with English Menus. I reckon the seller has someone on the inside of hikvision hehehe. The current chinese firmware on hikvision chinese site is 5.3.8 for the 3xx5 model. I really want to use the H264+ encoding and play with H265+ hehehehehe.

Wozzzzzzza, I would not jump that much in firmware, do a gradual upgrade go in small increments before jumping to 3.40.90.

Hi Del Boy, Sorry I didn't make myself clear, Its the disk space savings with H265+ not implying about quality. You get the same quality at way less cost to storage. I really want to take advantage of H264+, my NVR won't playback H265 but can record H265.

wozzzzzza, You can upload the Chinese v3.40.90 via the web GUI and it will still retain the English language. I uploaded Alairstairstevensons modded v3.4.90 with the virtual server feature. thanks Al hehehe. Virtual server enables you to route to your internal camera's network 192.168.254.x...

Hi all, Today, the day my new replacement NVR arrived was the day I was able to unbrick my NVR via serial method dammmm :orange::orange::orange: ! Now I have a spare hehehehe. I just updated both units to firmware 3.40.82. Will test and let you know. So far it has more HDD features and stuff. J

Hi scn101, Try using the chinese firmware (cox your NVR is a chinese unit) thats what I used on my NVR but update it via the WEB GUI so the English language stays in tack. I bricked my NVR using the EU firmware big mistake. Waiting for my UART cables to unbrick my NVR.
