Decided to finally replace my first Andy cam from 6 years ago (SD22204UE-GN) with a Color4k-T for my front porch. Can't wait to see how much better it will perform at night.
Gotta love these sales.
I needed to pull some json data into my camera feeds a few years back. @bp2008 was kind enough to whip up a very easy to use app. Working great since set up.

This is why I only use cat6. The pricing difference between 5 and 6 is not enough to take the risk of needing the extra poe power later and not having it. Especially for long runs.
Curious why you do not want to put the PC in that closet and run headless? I've got mine in a closet with the hdmi output run to a TV in a nearby room.
Other solution would be to run ethernet from the switch to another room where the PC is.
Crazy how much monoprice cat 6 has gone up in the last few years. I checked my past orders from amazon, and see i was paying around $100 for 1000ft. Same cable is almost $300 now.

There is a watchdog that can alert you if your server is unreachable, but it doesn't know why it is unreachable (power outage, internet outage, server issue, etc)
Well, mostly dead. There are still a few good companies out there.
Looking for something in the garage the other day, I came across the engine block for my commercial grade Scag zero turn mower that I replaced last year. It stirred up some anger and I have to vent. Sorry.
I bought the mower 5...
Me too. Works great with my Honeywell hardwired alarm. Alerts are instant and we can decide to call police/fire/etc after checking cameras if we are not home. No monthly fees is nice too.
