ePoE on a standard PoE switch?

If it's just a single camera installed at that distance, you could use a single port ePoE power injector. Cheaper than a whole new switch (surely?). J

Yep - down the side of the house in corridor configuration. Also used the equivalent for the single camera version at the back door. J

Cheap high endurance sd cards - a cautionary tale

Yeah, I ran them through blackmagic disk speed after pulling them. Never occurred to me they might not be genuine The price wasn’t so low as to be immediately suspicious Jim

Cheap high endurance sd cards - a cautionary tale

I've had a HDBW4231F (mono booby?) camera temporarily connected up for a little while, waiting for an opportunity to install it. I had noticed a tendency for it to take a while to appear as online in Smart PSS, but didn't think anything of it. Just as I was getting close to having time to...

Ok, that’s consistent then. I won’t be able to get IVS working at all until I get the S.D. card issues sorted.

Which firmware version do you have, and what did you use to edit the IVS settings? (Mine have 2.622.0000000.31.R, and I used IE on a Windows 10 VM) It let me add tripwires to both cameras.

Do you hit save before changing to the other channel? (Not sure it's actually required - will experiment when I get a chance)

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

That's odd. I've managed to create tripwires on both cameras. I don't have it fully working yet though, as I'm having issues getting the SD card to show up (looks like I've managed to bend a couple of pins on the card socket  ). That's my only gripe with this camera model - those...

best night time dash cam performance

If you want discreet, have a look at motorcycle dashcams. eg. The Innovv K2 (which I believe uses an IMX291 Starvis sensor): Innovv K2 Dual Motorcycle Camera System | HD Dashcam for Bikes! J

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

Hmm, I finally got a chance to install the latest Windows version of SmartPSS last night (SmartPSS_International_Win32_IS_V2.02.1.R.180619) I'm only seeing the first camera in that as well! Exactly the same behaviour as the Mac version. Which version are people using that have successfully...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

I've updated SmartPSS to the very latest version for Mac (V2.00.0.R.20180507) and it's still only seeing the first camera streams. Looks like this camera isn't fully supported in the Mac version... J

Ta, I'll check I'm on the latest version tonight - although I was using the Mac version at the time of testing it last night if that makes any difference. J

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

Just got a couple of these cameras from Andy. Anyone figure out how to view Channel 2 in SmartPSS? I only see one set of Main stream and Sub stream when right clicking on the IP in the Default Group. In Device manager it is showing up as having 2 channels though :idk: J
