Issue with viewing camera live stream with browsers on MacBook

Changing the codec to H.264 did the trick! I can connect directly to the camera and view its main stream without issue. Thanks for the tip! I installed SmartPSS Lite on my virtual machine and it seems to work fine for viewing. I've not heard of Scrypted but will have a look at it.

Issue with viewing camera live stream with browsers on MacBook

Thanks for the info. On my Windows machine I used Edge and Brave browsers. I tried using IE, but Edge has hijacked it. Other than displaying the live view, I haven't tested out the functionality of the WEB interface with those browsers. I don't plan on doing anything fancy, so hopefully I...

Issue with viewing camera live stream with browsers on MacBook

I set up my NVR and camera by using the NVR’s interface (with an attached mouse and TV). It’s also connected to my Xfinity gateway via ethernet. Using my MacBook over WIFI, I can access the NVR’s WEB browser interface and view the live image with no problem, using the Main Stream HD video. If...

Who dunnit? Advice needed for cam(s).

Thanks, Heavy I will give that a try. Get a little CSI action going here! :) I'm more than a little mad, but on the other hand, it did get me started on a new hobby!

I think it's steel. I was able to pick it up with a magnet. I used the magnet to search below the other window, but it was literally like looking for a BB in pine straw stack.

Eureka! There are only bits of glass between the panes, but on the window with the screen, I found this BB lying between the window and the screen. Thanks for the suggestion.

I see what you mean. There aren't many rocks of any size around here. Most of it's just tiny stuff you'd find in garden sand and gets kicked up by the mowers and blowers.

Who dunnit? Advice needed for cam(s).

Here are some pics. Three of the kitchen window and three of the bedroom window. The kitchen window had a screen covering where it was hit and although there was a white discoloration of the screen, there was no hole in it. It also appears that the white spot on the screen is about 1/2 inch...

I didn't know there was such a thing - I'll look into them. I do plan on 24/7 recording. Thanks!

That's one of the cams and PoE switch I've been considering. Thanks for the testing suggestion!

I don't know much about thermal cams. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have a look.

Who dunnit? Advice needed for cam(s).

It seemed like an okay idea at the time we moved here. The safe housing options are slim in our city and other factors make it difficult to move out of the city (there are no suburbs here.) I keep joking that i want to live in the center of 640 acres. Hopefully we'll get out of here once my...
