    wow this is fantastic!!...i did this and yes it added the blue links. So if done this and still on Hiks web interface, should I now be able to click the added blue links to access each cams IP to their GUIs? Because the link open to Not Found...i would assume that on the same IP since Hiks web...

    ok plugged in my laptop to an open port on the POE switch...now you said to change the network interface but im not sure which device you want me to change... i'm to change the network interface of my laptop to the static IP: 192.168.254.222 is this correct?

    1 of the cams is connected to the POE port on the NVR 2 are connected to a POE switch then to the NVR no if i scroll it doesnt show anything like web etc etc..i have seen the cams on the bottom when adding them then after i add they go up top

    Brand that's a really good question it just says NVR...but you might be able to tell from the .254 IP here's a pic showing on top (pic taken from NVR but yes i'm also logged into NVR on my PC)

    ahh that's why 4mp 1.18 is the sweet spot....i do have a ton of light at least on front side/rear of my house

    from this chart I think the only cams i'd ever consider are from 1/1.2" sensors

    too bad BI doesnt have a 3day trial....this really does seem like the route to go but the NVR was hard enough for me :(

    ugghh its such a pain using the IP....i finally get everything correct running into my NVR then of course the IP range is diff so cant access the web then if i change to view the web then i have to change back....and EVERY time i screw something up here
