    Troubleshooting Camera Connection

are there any recommendations for a good, relatively cheap POE tester? I have one cable that is problematic. The camera worked initially for over a year. To be sure, I swapped it out with another one. I confirmed that both worked by using a known good connection . I used one of these...

    DH-SD49225XA-HNR PTZ. lost connectivity

Thank you for your patience and help. I have done the following: 1. I brought the camera inside and connected to a external POE injector and placed in on my network. It powered up - I could see the cam and ping it but could not get to the log in screen. 2. I reset the camera and then used...

    new Dahua System recommendation

I am using windows 10. We also have occasional power failures but I changed the settings in the BIOS and I use splashtop to log in remotely. Granted it only happened 2 or 3 times in the past year. Of course, it is usually doing a storm or somtehing and this is when you really want to check...

    new Dahua System recommendation

Thanks for the recommendation. That does make sense. I currently have the AMDV4M16 and use that in conjunction with Blue Iris. I know it is not totally rational. I spend a fair amount of time aware from the house and inevitably Windows will update and shut down the computer. But I can...

    new Dahua System recommendation

I have a current AMCREST 4k system. It has its issues but for the money and I happy and it is fit for purpose. I have to replace a few cameras ( It is still cabled) so I thought I would bite the bullet and install some Cat6 at the existing camera site. I am looking at the Amcrest 4K UltraHD...

    Upgrading Samsung SDH-C74040

Thank you so much. Our house is very complicated so rewiring is not an option. I didnt see much difference with the picture quality when I upgraded to the Samsung. Is there a recommended model of the Dahua? I have analog (BNC) cabling currently to the outside and a few IP cams on the interior...

    Upgrading Samsung SDH-C74040

I have an existing SDH-C74040 1080P system. It has a lot of older cameras with exisiting analog (BNC) cables and cameras. I feed the camera to Blue Iris ( it works great) and I can monitor two houses plus my IP cameras) perfectly. I do NOT want to rewire the house. Is there an improvement...
