I think I have discovered the problem and the (lack of) solution

That sorry tail seems to tell it all. There is no solution. Possibly Operas MIGHT work but it seems that everybody is running away from NPAPI (Like Flash). It seems that...
What does any other Hikvision owners do? That might be a good way to tackle this. There seem to be enough of them for sale, there must be some other owners out there!
Riiight... so am I right in thinking that's not got me any further forward? There WAS a way of re-enabling NPAPI in Chrome but it's now been removed, so UNLESS I can somehow configure the Synology NAS to do something clever then I have a bunch of cameras that you can't see over the web (which is...

I guess fundamentally it due to...
I have to work away for a few days so I won't be able to reply (or rather test any suggestions) - but I will continue with this as I need to get it working!
OK, Thanks - I'll have a play about tonight. I might need a bit of help as I'm not familiar with the terms you use, HOWEVER it's really encouraging that I haven't bought a pup!
Thanks
I'll post back with my results.
Hi
Can someone sort out a couple of noob questions for me please. I've been using some Panasonic IP cameras for years without problems and never really poked into how they worked because they just worked.
I've just bought a couple of Hikvision ones and am surprised to find that they also seem...
