Hikvision 2032F On Camera SD Card Recording Setup Info?

It is funny you posted this weird behaviour because I did too notice some tantrum on my cams. One had failed to show up on my smartphone and I have rebooted it. It took sveral trials before I could pick it up again. No particular reason not Ip change nothing. And after some time.... boom! was...

Hikvision 2032F On Camera SD Card Recording Setup Info?

I posted this in another thread: The best I could do was to telnet into the camera and copy files to a NAS provided you set it up in Web interface. In my experience the process takes time. Another issue is that the camera does not apply timestamps to the filenames so you have to download a few...

    Hikvision 4500 connection issue

Just a quick update here: It turns out that iVMS 4500-HD version works under Android 6.0. Hikvision said that they work on fixing iVMS 4500 which IMHO is a better app.

    Hikvision 4500 connection issue

OK. I confirm that IVMS 4500 is broken under Android 6. You are not doing anything wrong. Not even the test camera from China works. I have been struggling since the roll-out of Marshmallow and today I had time to doodle with my Nexus 5. The only solution I found for now is to downgrade to 5.1...

Hikvision 2032F On Camera SD Card Recording Setup Info?

OK so I tried SSH and it seems to work. For who is interested here are the commands: > ssh admin@yourCam IP system should prompt for password. enter it Once you are in, change directory to the sd card: > cd /mnt/mmc01 You may execute an ls here and you should see a bunch of mp4 files and some...

Hikvision 2032F On Camera SD Card Recording Setup Info?

Could files be downloaded using telnet? I guess if we mount the NAS drive like in the mtd hack and then copy to that destination? Has anyone tried this?

Inexpensive solution for power source with backup

I don't have an NVR neither a POE system. I'm just a regular guy with a wifi router. These cams allow me to save bandwidth since they record on SD. I use bandwidth only when I stream to my phone. If I had a POE I wouldn't have bothered with 12V power supply+backup. ....or with ds-2532-iws

Inexpensive solution for power source with backup

I am glad you bring this point up! One of the main strengths of my setup is that the cameras continue to record on the SD card. During power failure they work completely independent from the rest of the system. You may not be able to access them with no wifi but they still record. I KNOW that...

Inexpensive solution for power source with backup

This is exactly what this PS does. During normal operation it powers the cameras. During power failure switches to battery. When power comes up it powers the cams and recharges the battery. It is all-in-one. Just like the alarm panels and the UPS. No homemade device. All you have to do is make...

Inexpensive solution for power source with backup

The battery is only there for power failures which are rare in my area. I ran it on battery only once to see how long it lasts in reality. At night when you also power the IR, the times will change. Did not test that yet. When I abandoned the test, the voltage was still reading 12.1 so there...

Inexpensive solution for power source with backup

It's funny how people react to wires. My wife said I was building a bomb which seems to agree with whoslooking. As you figured out there is no home mod here. The PS is doing what it's supposed to do. Battery is not overheating, it,s not even warm. This is the exact setup like any Honeywell...

Hikvision 2032F On Camera SD Card Recording Setup Info?

You were correct. Another glorious piece of junk I bought from AE. I got a Samsung EVO 64GB for 18$ from Walmart and works just fine. However, the camera formatting did split the space into 2 partitions (32GB each).

Inexpensive solution for power source with backup

I know there are many ways to power your cams. I am sharing this one as it works for me and maybe someone else may use it. My philosophy was to use wifi cams as this allowed me to have the least amount of cables and minimal holes through the brick walls. 12V 3A UPS power supply: 28.99 from...

Hikvision 2032F On Camera SD Card Recording Setup Info?

My biggest dilemma is why does the firmware split it in 2? The card formats just fine as fat 32 with ms-dos partition table at 64 gig. Just when I try to format it in the camera I get the 2 partitions. Is this an issue for the 5.2.0 firmware? Should I try to upgrade?
