    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Great thread and info. Anyone have a picture of one of these beasts mounted on your wall? I'm coming from the older turrets (2335 I think), and these things look massive. It's good to be noticed but don't want them too noticeable if you know what I mean. Guess bigger is better. :)

HIK NVR keeps dying. Are there alternatives?

I'm running a rebranded hik nvr (LTS). Is the failure rate on these things really that high? Maybe some of you have bad luck? I'm 3+ yrs in on my current NVR and wondering if I should make plans for a replacement. Me personally it's nice just having an all in one decide like an NVR vs having to...

Looking for better nighttime performance between those 5 cameras

Has anyone compared the 2386G2 and 2346G2 cameras? The 4MP colovu has a 1/2.7" sensor and the 2386g2 has a 1/1.8" sensor. I would think in this case the low light performance might be similar/comparable due to the larger sensor? If anyone has any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks for the real...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

Thanks for this review. My complaint with the colorvu models was the lack of IR, and this looks to "fix" that issue and has a large image sensor for an 8MP cam at 1/1.8". I also have a few darkfighter 2335's and some worse 2042 models (I think). I will order one of these to see how it compares.

IPC-T2385G-I Hikvision 8MP fixed turret (night videos added)

Forgive the basic question but does this this camera use a larger mount size than the older turret style hikvision cams? Is it the same size as the colorvu or a little smaller? Thanks! Edit: Looked a little closer at the datasheets and this looks to be the same size as the colorvu. This is 5.4"...

Turret wall mounting for HikVision, can it be done with outdoor units?

Yes, you can easily mount directly to the wall. The two installers I know locally don't normally use the junction boxes as they're bulky. If you have vinyl siding you can leave the connections behind the siding, but with brick like someone said you'll need to drill a larger hole.

    Hikvision alternatives for home security?

^I think that's a very good solution. A friend has this setup and it works well for him. The problem with the "unicorn system" as mentioned above is it isn't simple. Period. To securely access your home LAN with your NVR, you want to setup a VPN server. Opening ports is not secure. This is...

    Hikvision alternatives for home security?

It sounds like you are best off with Ring or some other such off the shelf device that is simpler. The only other alternative is you spend some more time finding a good contractor who's really knowledgeable who can help you. As with most contractors these days, it's hard to find good ones that...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Ok so it works. I did a factory reset to default in the menu option, then plugged it into the nvr as plug and play. Then set it to manual and added the correct login/pw and *voila* all working. I feel like a total retard but I'm glad it's working. The stream showed up in live view even as...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Yes I definitely did this. I tried it several different ways without any luck unfortunately. Oh yes regarding POE, I was wondering if the camera was getting sufficient power from the NVR so I used the POE injector with the NVR at one point, but that didn't make a difference. I will reset the...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

I will check those out when I get home, thanks! Stupid question but is the "Restore camera to defaults" the same as pressing the physical reset button on the camera? I tried "reset camera" in the web GUI, but I'll try reset default. I mounted the dang camera already so hopefully that will do the...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Thanks for the help! I tried several different IP addresses. Try to bear with me as I ramble on, I tried many different things. The IPs of the cameras on the NVR are 192.168.188.X. I set the camera to dhcp (using the sadp tool), then set the port to plug n play on the nvr. It looked like it set...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Thanks, very odd and I'm not sure what the problem is. Yes I've tried "plug and play" and reverting to a manual connection and all kind of things. The really odd thing is when I connect the camera to my lan with a poe injector it works fine, but when plugged in directly to the nvr it doesn't. I...

Hikvision camera not working connected to NVR but works on LAN..?

Well that didn't seem to do anything.. Oh well.. I guess the question is if I can downgrade the firmware somehow to before 5.5, to something like 5.4.5. I tried to downgrade it but it wouldn't let me. Is there a hack available to downgrade firmware? The NVR I'm using is LTN8716K-P16 on the...

Hikvision camera not working connected to NVR but works on LAN..?

Well I've about pulled my hair out.. Sorry for not mentioning but the firmware of the cam was on 5.5.3. I'm just trying to upgrade to 5.5.51 and we'll see how it goes..
