New firmware Hikvision V5.3.6 Build 151103

I think your right. If you buy from aliexpress, most of the cam's have a multilanguage menu which is best left alone. Trying to update will probably brick your cam and there is no way to fix it. AFAIK there's no solution for the camera's with fimware v5.3.6 and up.

    new dutch user

I can confirm that the sharp angle of the lens was causing the IR leakage. In stead of mounting a bracket to solve this problem, I got a 2332 turret which doesn't have this problem. The turret has no problem at all with the sharp angle and works great.

read error: input/output error trying to read mtdblocks

Aha, Ok :) Regarding my backup strategy for future problems I made the following preparations : - keep a copy of the installed firmware together with the TFTP updater used - made a backup of the 18 mtdblock(mtd-ro) files I think this should be sufficient. Or is there something else worth...

read error: input/output error trying to read mtdblocks

So when the camera is using the mtdblock I'm trying to copy this may result in a read error. Understood and added to the knowledge database ! Like the learning process in getting these camera's back in working condition. Copying the mtd ro files worked for all of the three 2132's without any...

read error: input/output error trying to read mtdblocks

That's good to hear :) Didn't have any problem before to copy the full set of mtdblocks of a 2332 and a 2432. Just ran in to this by trying to backup mtdblock17 from a 2132. Just tried the other two 2132's I've bought. They do let me copy the mtdblock17, but give read errors on other...

looking for mtd files from a DS-2CD2432F-IW with firmware v5.2.5 or v5.2.8

Some got the original mtdblock5 and mtdblock6 files of a DS-2CD2432F-IW running on v5.2.5 or v5.2.8 firmware ? Got a fully bricked 2432 camera back online with the mtd files of a 2332, but because it's a different cameramodel, not all functions are present/working.

Been able to give the cam a new IP adress and as a bonus even managed to get the serial number of the sticker back in the mtd blocks :) I just love it when a plan comes together ! Just curious about the region code adjustment in mtdblock6 : it seems that changing the regioncode in the first...

    Hikvision DS-2032-I Console Recovery

The firmware I used is the same I succesfully used to update my other 2332, so I think it must be the mtd files. Is it possible to copy mtd5 and mtd6 blocks from a working camera to solve this ? Or is there a way to copy the 'ram file system' ?
