Uniview URDB1 - A doorbell with great image quality, Onvif/RTSP streams, and EXIR, but no mechanical/digital doorbell support.

When I heard about Uniview's doorbell, I was immediately excited to try it out and got my hands on it that same week, thanks to some great connections that I have in the CCTV world. I was already on the lookout for a replacement to my Hikvision doorbell, and it seemed to meet all my requirements...

Uniview ip dome camera with built in mic

These cameras typically don't capture the best audio quality, the microphones in them are small, and the codecs that compress the audio are often times leave the audio having a distinct "sound" that makes it difficult to hear. You might be able to hear normal conversations, but I haven't had any...

    Vanderbilt, Milesight, OpenEye

Late reply (a few months). I've personally used Openeye cameras but not on Blue Iris.. they're Onvif and worked with every NVR I've thrown them at, so I don't see why they wouldn't work with BI :)

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Yeah, sadly I just can’t figure it out! My biggest concern right now is just getting Onvif or at least the RTSP stream to work, because it constantly connects and disconnects from the NVR. Grrrrr

Or try modifying the firmware... I’ll see if I can correctly compile the CramFS file later this week

Interesting, my volume is all the way up and the doorbell noise isn’t that loud.. in fact, it seems like the doorbell noise coming from my actual chime inside is louder than the doorbell itself.. Also, I’ve only heard of people complaining that the doorbell is too quiet, not loud!

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

I was able to create the right tar.lzma file with a Linux VM but sadly, looks like there is a cramfs image built into the firmware file, and the tool I'm using doesn't create it. I could try compiling a modified cramfs but that is a bit tricky because I've never done something like that... guess...

Other doorbells, like Skybell, ring like that when you press the button.. guess it's just a confirmation.

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

The different firmwares honestly look exactly the same.. I can’t tell a difference between them (those of those that do have a web interface at least). The firmware works across each app fine, for example, LaView firmware seems to work fine with Uniden’s app. I tried editing the audio files...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

If I’m able to edit the audio file to be silent, successfully compile the firmware, and then the camera accepts it, then we’ll be going somewhere;) I will try a little later today. I wonder what the size limit is for audio files? And if it needs to be a specific bitrate and size - this is an...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Hi TimTech, Thanks for the info - The interesting thing is that I have absolutely no issues with VLC and can watch the stream for hours with no drops - however, my NVR doesn't like the stream at all - Onvif and RTSP both drop the connection and reconnect every 5-10 minutes. The NVR log files...

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Interesting.. mine has fixed itself as well, without any changes. I haven’t updated my apps or my doorbell at all, and I can confirm it was not working a few days ago. A bit scary? Now time to try and figure out why my recorder keeps dropping the RTSP stream.. any ideas?

Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

I also have this issue with my U-Bell, both on Hikvision, Nelly, and Uniden's own firmware. I also thought that the SD card slot was broken, but video is stored on it without any issues (funny thing, my doorbell actually came with a short clip of it being assembled in the factory! The worker...
