So I bought the indoor station. In the settings there is a reference to a lipsip2-3.6.0 (oSIP). Could that be the SIP protocol they are useing when selecting SIP protocol rather than private? Still trying to get the doorbell to work without the slow indoor station and with freePBX

Update on using the kd8003 SIP protocol. I did a network trace and checked via Wireshark. Their SIP protocol doesn't look like a regular SIP protocol so it looks like I can officially confirm that you have to buy an indoor station. If someone more experienced wants to take a look at the trace...

I also bought the DS-KD8003-IME. I was able to get it up and running (and updated) and changed the netword protocol to SIP because I don't want to have a hikvision indoor station with its limited functionality. I then made a SIP server with FreePBX, witch only the ulaw and x264 codecs enabled...

That would be ideal. But reading through this topic I don't know if that's possible. Can I do advanced configuration (mainly for integration with home assistant) with iVMS-4200 and setup hikvison app on android tablet/phone without needing a hikvision panel?

That's what I'm afraid off reading this topic.. Could I show HA on a hikvision panel? It would be silly to use two different tablets...

Is there a way to only buy the DS-KD8003-IM and use an android tablet that's already in place to control Home assistant instead of the hickvision tablet to view the camera?. E.g. 2 way audio via SIP + live video on the tablet on a HA card that it automatically switches when te bell is pressed?
