Thanks mate, yeah I have upped all the packet buffers in GV. Not the cause unfortunately! PRETTY SURE I FOUND A "SOLUTION" After mucking around with settings a bit more yesterday it seems I have a winning combo. 1. Set the main stream to 720P resolution, 15fps, 15 i frame, CBR and max bit...

Bugger didn't know about them not supporting Ali purchased cams. I submitted a support request through their site earlier, linking to this page (hahaha). Oh well see what comes of it, I'm no worse off for trying haha

Bugger same firmware as mine. I've got no hope of getting an exchange from the seller (alibaba, bloke wants remote access to my network to "troubleshoot") even after seeing this thread. Heres hoping Dahua release a new firmware that addresses these issues :/

Thanks Chris, glad to know I am not alone with this model being a problem. I'm going to throw a few more firmware's at it and hope for the best. Will post here if I ever come up with a solution.

Unfortunately I hadn't tried to record before upgrading it. There was a bug with the snapshot.cgi web interface that forced me to upgrade practically straight out of the box. Did it, realized its a chinese only firmware and had to flash again to this modded version to correct. Dahua Firmware...

    Pixelated motion on IPC-HFW4431R-Z

Okay so I have taken the camera down and tried it on another known working cable run, which also links to a different switch port. Unfortunately, I still observe all the same behaviors from the camera :( At this stage I'm effectively out of ideas. All I can put it down to is a faulty camera or...

The cable is this product below: Clipsal - 2D4P6IPV3B - LAN Cable, 305m, Category 6, UTP And the run would only be 25-30 meters at most. The one thing that differentiates this from all my other runs is that I had to join the cable along the way as it was cut short originally when I had...

    Pixelated motion on IPC-HFW4431R-Z

Thanks mate, I will try this but my other dahua's handle 20fps/20iframe just fine and I was hoping to match my existing config with this new model. One would assume its just as if not more powerful than my older models!

I'm running 568A throughout my whole system....but this shouldn't affect it should it? The other Dahuas I have seem fine. Would I see packet loss if it was a cabling issue? Because I dont :/ Even with a datagram size of 10,000 Reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: bytes=10000 time=3ms TTL=64 Ping...

    Pixelated motion on IPC-HFW4431R-Z

Okay now what I am seeing is the camera seems to "stagger". This happens in VLC as well. The video will be fine and smooth, then stop for say .5 seconds, then smooth, then stop and so on. Then I go to upload an example video to senvid.com, and it converts it and the result looks like the...

Thanks nayr, is that under Camera->Conditions->Exposure->3D NR ? If so, this was on and set at 50. I have turned it off and will test when I get home.
