    I'd say that sounds like a hardware issue. Try cleaning the microphone inside the vto or replace it, if it doesn't help.

    I have a couple of VTO2000A's as SIP ext. on asterisk and unify pbx's. As sw is from same generation, VTO3211 should work fine.
