Unable to view NVR/Cams via phone app on Local Network!

Agree....I will try to configure using the "NVR" option when I go over next time and ensure we are connected to wireless (LAN). Weird because I've assisted numerous times with cam / nvr installs and have always done and used the same settings :banghead:

Unable to view NVR/Cams via phone app on Local Network!

I can't remember which step I did first to be honest....I believe when I first had him download the app (of course he was on wireless at the time) i tried to enter in both WAN and LAN but neither were working. So then as a test I did port forward (37777 first) and took him off of wireless and...

Unable to view NVR/Cams via phone app on Local Network!

Along with trying to connect on my own phone first and depending on results...I am definitely going to try and connect via P2P using the serial number of the nvr.

Unable to view NVR/Cams via phone app on Local Network!

Yeah I've been doing a lot of research this am and found some posts online that say sometimes when xfinity broadcasts their other wireless network (xfinity hotspot) it can mess with client isolation and some devices may not be able to communicate with each other. The next time I stop by I will...

Unable to view NVR/Cams via phone app on Local Network!

All good thoughts...although I can pretty much take the guest network suggestion out of the equation. Only one wireless network setup when I was logged into the xfinity router management interface. And pretty sure when I looked at his phone and turned off wireless in order to go to cellular...

Unable to view NVR/Cams via phone app on Local Network!

Hey all...hoping someone can help me out here. I'm baffled as I've never had this happen before. Have a buddy that ordered a package deal from empiretech/Andy, dahua cams and nvr. He installed everything and asked if I would swing by on my way home from work and make sure everything looked...

If I am understanding this correctly.....the password that you set for the admin account when first configuring the NVR is the same password the NVR will attempt to connect to the cams when you hook everything up....? And if I need to change I just follow the screenshot instructions you listed...

Yeah I'd really like to do this option but the NVR won't let me change the password to what I originally had on the previous one for some reason....I used 2 different options as stated by the password text box (both lowercase and a number in the middle). The only way it would take it when I was...

Reviving this thread to ask another question....I finally was able to get my family member to purchase a new NVR (same model as before: 4108-8P). I just got done doing some pre-configuration before I plan on going over and hooking it up later this week (date / time, password, etc). My question...

I assume buying a new unit it will come with a limited time replacement warranty just in case something like this happens again?

Well I tried another power brick over at a buddy's house and the same thing is happening so I am thinking the unit is shot. Looks like its time to buy another unit from @EMPIRETECANDY

No "bad" history as far as I know. Device has worked as expected for the last several years. It was plugged into a simple surge protector but that doesn't mean it didn't take a strike... although everything else plugged into same surge is currently working so who knows:idk:

I suppose ur talking about the power brick / cord that powers the unit and not something directly connected to the board? If so I can see if I have a spare PS laying around that I can try....

It's a family members nvr so exact time frames are not possible to get. Although I do know it was working perfectly fine a few months back (as I hooked up a second cam for them and it was working great at that time). They basically just let me know it wasn't working while we were out to dinner...
