    thanks! I have a Synology NAS, any downsides from using their Surveillance station feature? Going this route would require that I buy a separate poe switch.

    Thanks for the quick reply! Haven't checked the power supply cable, is that common. No beep, no light. I'll clean out the fan and look for a battery as well.

    Seems like my 4 year old NVR5216-16P-4KS2E is dead. It won't power on. Is there any troubleshooting to get this operational again or should I opt for a new NVR?

    would creating a dahua account and logging into it create a security issue even if the NVR is on its own VLAN?
