Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

They asked a very pointed question is there a Linux option, probably for a specific reason. If your someone that works in IT and familiar with security, we all know very very well all of the security implications of running Windows PC's on your networks. While that is acceptable for most home...

SD49225T-HN Auto Tracking and Plugin Help

So first of all I love the camera so far. Second of all, I understand the limitations of APTZ, so if your only answer is put in 10,000 more manual cameras skip to a new thread please. The PTZ works fine for manual / web controls. I am now trying my first experiments to enable it to try and...

    IPC-HDW5231R-ZE bad night video

So I have done numerous things. I can connect to the nvr using chrome and the chrome app. I also ensured that chrome was the default browser just in case. When I click the little IE icon nothing happens. The only button that does anything in the registration screen is the edit pencil...

    IPC-HDW5231R-ZE bad night video

Here are some screen shots. Camera registration seems to be the only area with connect or setup buttons. If I click the pencil edit on a camera in registration then I get this modify screen. I can change settings there, but if I click connect it doesn't do anything, and the setup button is...

    IPC-HDW5231R-ZE bad night video

So I am struggling with the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE cameras, and I am sure it is my own fault. I have a mixture of several models of cameras, and currently even my super cheap china cameras do well at night, and the video from these is almost useless. So I have them hooked up to a...

    Unusual setup

there are a few usb capture cards that are decent, StarTech was good if I remember right from some work I did. they take a BNC video connection, some have audio, some not. You could use one of those and a video switch if you can't find a more elegant solution

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Wow that is high. It gets quite hot around here, it may not do well in this area. I guess I will find out. I decided that I was going to add one to my setup even though I know most likely I won't be using the ptz functions

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

So this model comes in the SD49225T-HN and SD49225T-HN-W if a person can get the W for the same price, is that what you would do ? The W I assume can do both wireless, and poe ? You would still recommend this camera ?

Comparison of mini bullet HFW-4231E-SE with 3 other cameras

Thank you both. Odd how the 5mp labeled starlight with starlight specs aren’t. Still these look useful in the right deployments

Comparison of mini bullet HFW-4231E-SE with 3 other cameras

Tiger, my understanding is that on of the strengths of the starlights are low light with no IR at all. Do you have any shots from them without IR ? Thanks

Comparison of mini bullet HFW-4231E-SE with 3 other cameras

well seems I can only find that one in up to a 3.6mm so far, so might have to go with something like you just kindly demonstrated for us for anything that isn't a broad view camera

    Varifocal vs Fixed

makes sense, thanks. I will give that a try. I need to experiment and see how well they do out here with and without IR
