    Hikvision DS-2DE3304W-DE, PTZ not working

I started my own thread for the same issue as I don't want to hijack his thread. UPDATE: ======== I did find that using the Hikvision DS-2DE220I-AE option in BlueIris does get it so the PTZ does work, but the response time is horrible with BlueIris. However, the controls are accurate. I can...

Hikvision DS-2DE3304W-DE and BlueIris PTZ not working

As there is another thread already on this subject, I didn't want to steal the thread with, and since I haven't seen a solution, I figured I'd start a thread for this. I can view the camera feed without any issues, DHCP is enabled, IP address works, settings look good PTZ IS enabled in both the...

This is what I've captured this year.

Just found out, one of the guys from the first and second videos that I have has upgraded his nightly activities to assault and robbery. Student robbed 2 people on streets near his home, Raleigh cops say

    Doorbell camera scares off thug.

And it's better than nothing, alerts people, simple implementation. So despite being lower quality, that picture is more than enough to give a pretty good likeness.

    Which Dell Optiplex to get.

Why is a VM a bad idea for Blue Iris? 2 cameras, 1080p, 30fps. I haven't measured my actual power draw (Meter arrives on Sunday). Sure, the VM cannot use the graphics, but at this time, my system is not struggling at all with the load.

    Which Dell Optiplex to get.

Well, it's not entirely a poor choice, you could run a VM and add a video card and it would still be a good setup. It would use very slightly more power though. The hardware acceleration did skip my mind though. But you really wouldn't have to. If it was dedicated to a couple of tasks...

    Which Dell Optiplex to get.

Or get a Xeon E5-2670 which are dirt cheap, the boards are a little pricier, but you're looking at around the same price if not cheaper for more horsepower. You could be looking at an 8 core with HT, and a motherboard for $260-300 range which does 12,000+ on passmark The Intel i7-6700 while...

This is what I've captured this year.

That's what amazed me. Multiple neighbors on our street said they left their doors unlocked. One even said she lucked out that they didn't find the $500 in cash in the car that she had forgotten in there.

    Share your BlueIris PC specs

Not necessarily. Usually if you buy an optiplex or elitedesk, they are used. You might be able to find a new system that is inexpensive. However, once any manufacturers warranty is gone, you now have to find proprietary replacement parts. A custom built computer, you can choose hardware with 3-5...

This is what I've captured this year.

Well, that's the other thing, the one kid which I know showed up each time had a felony charge of possession of a stolen firearm a week after the first video.

This is what I've captured this year.

Oh yeah, both times the neighbors were alerted. The first time when there was 5 of them, they were all caught. But our neighbors didn't want to press any charges. These kids hit up A LOT of cars in the neighborhood. But our neighbors didn't really care. Their reasoning "There's nothing in the...

This is what I've captured this year.

Yeah, now I'm running 2x Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I cameras at the moment. All feeding to BlueIris on a VM on my NASbox with 30TB+ of storage. Just trying to figure out cameras, settings, and positions. The IR range on them doesn't seem to be as good as advertised.

Sorry these are nest cams (I've since switched to IP Cameras and am now getting all of that configured). After the first event where we captured the teens getting into cars, my wife wanted more cameras. I am not complaining. The camera is actually located inside the house (since it is a nest...

    Egging my house

No permanent damage? Protein from the eggs can do some serious damage to paint or protective coatings. Saw some damage to some cars one day from eggs that were thrown on them at night, and sat until mid morning before it got washed off. If the police told you nothing they can do as it's no...
