Hello, if you don't want to use a vm or web navigator it's also possible with Wine or CrossOver. Just a create a x64 bottle, install SmartPSS and configure the NVR or Camera(s). Tested on 20.04.4 LTS (Focal Fossa) 64-bit and CrossOver 20.0.2, nothing to report or something else to install. Enjoy...
