Looks like we all will need home generators.

Because the generators can take a few minutes (some less), I keep a UPS on all the camera servers and POE switches. It prevents downtime and lessens surges.

I'll gladly pay for the electricity for those cells.

Have a proposed system build. Need advice please.

My first attempt was trying to run BI on a Small Board Computer. It is a Seeed Odyssey. More of a tinkerer's computer with built in Arduino and such. Rather than deal with it's limitations, I just ordered an i7-4765t Lenovo M93p. I'm not limiting frame rate, still going direct to disk and my cpu...

Couldn't get the CPU usage in control with 4 cameras. Brought the cameras down to 720 and the frame rate to 5. Still had some spiking. Going to buy another copy of BI and load it on an I7 with 16gbram. It is a Lenovo Tiny.

Have a proposed system build. Need advice please.

I'm finally getting my crap together in one building and getting rid of a few rental garages. We are getting internet installed and will be installing four POE IP cameras. Three HNC328-MB One HNC324-MB Everything will be wired CAT6 (tomorrow). My plan is to hide all of the electronics in an old...

Do you remember when you were clueless about cctv and started with BI?

Been only dabbling with BI for a few years, never able to devote the time to do more than scratch the surface. But I keep three properties under surveillance pretty well. Without this forum to ask questions, I'd be lost.

I have not been able to download from that link. I click on the numbers (5.x.x.x) but nothing happens. Was able to get back to 5.0.8.2. from my original installation. Nest cams are back . New versions (.2 and .3) would not allow me to access from our phones, but now can. All settings were...

    Wall-Mounted Viewing Station

I have a Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspian and the Chromium browser running UI3. The video output is connected to a spare input on my master bedroom television. I keep UI3 running all the time, so all I have to do is switch inputs to view cameras. There is a small wireless keyboard/mouse, so It...

Updated to 5.2.4.2, now Nest cams and some Hikvision cams not working. I'm not too well versed in this. How do I revert back to whatever is stable? I am running BITools, if that helps. Any assistance appreciated. Thank, Al
