blue iris suddenly a memory hog and at 100% cpu usage

I have installed the latest graphics driver 21.20.16.4860 (released 11-Dec-17) and latest BI version 4.5.6.2. After a day of monitoring it's also working fine. This driver seems to be meant for 6th gen Skylake processors. But it might also work with other CPUs. Download Intel® Graphics Driver...

blue iris suddenly a memory hog and at 100% cpu usage

I have been running Blue Iris for over two years without issues. I ran into memory leak / CPU issues when I upgraded my computer recently. It's resolved now and running stable for more than a week. I know it's hard to sort through all the threads so I am quoting own experience again that I...

Blue iris suddenly used 80% memory since last update.

I can assure you it's the steps you followed that makes it work.

Blue iris suddenly used 80% memory since last update.

Which CPU and graphics card do you have? 21.20.16.4664 did not work for me when I installed it while BI was running as a service in the background. You need to uninstall BI first, then install the driver and BI. Reboot after each step to clear the memory.

My frame rates are steady at 15 fps. Did not notice any dropped frame rates.

Well this one looks like an Intel bug to me. Re-posting my own experience that I posted on the other thread...

    4.6.5 - December 1, 2017

I can confirm no memory leak or CPU issues with 4.6.5 on NUC6i7KYK. I upgraded to NUC6i7KYK recently and immediately ran into memory leak and high CPU issues. Windows installed 22.20.16.4749 graphics driver by default which was obviously broken. Later I tried latest graphics driver...

    Blue Iris Hardare Requirements

I have (8) ds-2cd2032f-i and (2) ds-2cd2142fwd-is, managed to hard wire them all to gigabit LAN with cat6. Very pleased with the cameras so far. Looking at the volume of data these cameras can generate, I don't think wifi is an option for me at all.

I am running 10 Hik cameras, total 32mp @ 15fps on an i5-4460 with 8GB. My CPU usage is steady at 35%.

    CPU Usage HIGH

You can actually use your graphics card as well as Intel hardware acceleration. Simply connect your monitor to the graphics card and connect a display emulator to the HDMI port of the motherboard. This way you will be enabling both. When you open Display Settings you will see two monitors. Make...

Moving BI to a new PC - performance issues

Perfect! My i5 is now idling at 35%. I left the graphics card in the PC and connected the monitor to the graphics card. And then connected a Display Emulator to the HDMI port of the motherboard which is driven by integrated graphics...

    CPU Usage HIGH

I think Intel only supports hardware acceleration HD 4000 and later GPUs. http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/intelligent-systems/intel-embedded-media-and-graphics-driver/hybrid-multi-monitor-support-paper.html

Moving BI to a new PC - performance issues

Thank you fenderman. Here's an update... I have moved the license as well as 650 ti graphics card to i5 PC. FPS immediately jumped to 15 and all recordings problems are resoved. The cpu usage on i5 dropped to 65% and it goes up to 80% when recording. I don't think it will be able to handle any...

Moving BI to a new PC - performance issues

Both are storing on SSD and on the same network. When recording, task manager shows 50 - 60% on i7 while i5 hovers close to 100%. I think all i5 problems mentioned my above post are symptoms of maxed out CPU.
