Can i put or use as an external hard drive a SSD in my Swann NVR, the reason i ask is when i search and stop the search to play the footage the timeline jumps excessively either forward or back, i assume this is down to the hard drive trying to locate the right spot.

Thanks for the info i will check this out. I have the camera working now as said in the post my mate found the problem, to his surprise there is a circuit board in the ethernet connector on the camera and moisture had seeped in and corroded a connection.
