I just picked up a 2CD2T55F-I8 with 6mm lens from EBay and I'm wondering how face detection works.
I have it perched under the eave of my garage pointing out the driveway and I'm
walking in front of it looking into the camera from about 10ft away. It does not alert of
any face detection or...
No solution for me... I've been email-less with that camera and just use it to
record motion events. I rely on my other cameras pointed in the same area
to email me status.
The last time I emailed the seller to see if they have an updated US firmware,
they didn't...
Needless to say, I just...
I have a 2T45-I8 running 5.3.3. Email with pictures attached causes the camera to reboot...it's logged and consistent every time. Email with just the header and no pictures attached works fine but is pretty much useless.
Is there a newer firmware available?
The newer Netgear PLC adapters work. I'm currently using the latest PL1200 and it's been running faultlessly. My former Powerline 500 XAVB-something I forgot, locked up occasionally. They're the ones that look like little cubes and appear to be no longer sold by Netgeat.
My bad... I missed the 38W requirement from the camera. All 4 24AWG twisted pairs used together is about the same as a single pair of 18AWG. 3 pairs twisted together is about the same as a 20AWG pair. Feeding 12V on the end of 100ft (times 2) will probably work at light loads, but if the...
No bueno :-( Tried constant bit rate and it still reboots on every motion detect. What are your other settings? I'm running 20fps, 4MP mode, 4096Mbps.
It also rebooted a couple times when I was in playback mode, but I'm not sure if there was a motion detect in the meanwhile.
This makes at least 3 of us who have the same problem. It's definately a firmware issue.
My unit reboots consistently on each event when email is enabled.

I'm talking with the seller, but so far no...
I've been using a pair of Netgear Powerline 1200 PLC adapters between the house and my garage to serve 6 cameras

It works reasonably well. Best case bandwidth is 1200Mbps, but in reality it's quite a bit less depending on how...
Here's the link to what I was referring. It works well

Note this is spec'd to only output 12W @12V, 9W@9V, and 10W @ 5VDC, post DC-DC conversion.
Hope this helps!
It should work but the only potential issue is voltage drop. Calculate what it will look like at the other end of the cable given the camera's maximum power draw and see if it's still within operating spec. 100' is really 200' of wire distance
The other option is running 48V poe with a poe...
I have the same build
Mine also has issues only when email is enabled. It reboots consistently if email is configured, else it seems ok when run overnight with email turned off
Motion detection seems overly sensitive compared to my other 3MP units
It's definitely a firmware issue...
Just received a 4MP 2CD3T45-I8 running 5.3.3. It reboots itself on every motion detect or intrusion detect.
I've disabled NAS storage and IR, and swapped in known good 80W, 48VDC PoE power supplies -- doesn't
make any difference. Cable distance to the camera is about 15ft, so line drop...
I noticed intrusion detection and line crossing are not listed in the specs

Can anyone confirm? Is it because they max'd out the CPU with the higher resolution?
