I had camera and laptop connected to the POE switch. Laptop has 2 IP addresses configured on the NIC:
192.168.254.254 subnet mask 255.255.0.0
192.168.1.1 subnet mask 255.255.0.0

There was no connector on the board, just holes in the PCB. IVS features do exist in the interface, but I have no IVS-capable camera to test them with.
Not sure about usb to serial (DB-9). No, nothing unique. UART from ebay.
I did not use Speco app. I installed Dahus gDMSS Plus on my phone, which works fine. I am now running NVR firmware V3.216.0000003.0, Build Date: 2019-05-21.

If you plug USB drive and reboot your N8NXP it will tell you in the logs: “ProductName: NVR42XX_8P_4KS2”. I was not able to upgrade it with Dahua firmware via USB. Had to resort to upgrading via UART module. Success there.
