    Thanks @looney2ns. My main concern was having the ability to upgrade to SmartIR when the firmware update is released. After that, I definitely would not upgrade the firmware again. :)

    I apologize if this is a dumb question. I'm new to purchasing Dahua cameras from Empiretecandy. In terms of the firmware, can the firmware be downloaded and installed from the Dahua website, or does Empiretecandy keep a separate place with firmware updates?

    This is a very good idea. I'm also looking into doing something else with offsite storage of alerts. I'm going to look into doing something similar.
