Hello, we have installed system with 62 dome cams, 3NVRs and PC (Ryzen,16GB RAM, Nvidia 1070) and it is quite unstable, could anyone point me what to check or set to make it stable? Behavior is as follows:

- screens are 25cams (group 1), 25cams (group 2), 12cams ind grid 5x5 (group 3)
- we use only substreams 704x576px
- network traffic is about 75Mbps
- CPU load about 20%
- it works quite good w 50cams
- Smartpss is latest 2.02

problems are:
- if I launch group 3 on LCD3 it loads a bit slowly (3 secs - not a real problem so far)
- if smartpss is run in fullscreen mode sometimes doubleclick on picture opens video in whole screen but sometimes (at least once in five minutes) whole screen is just black (another doubleclick returns to grid mode and it works)
- cameras are 4MP domes, we changed resoulution to 1920x1080 and stability of SmartPSS improved a bit but not as good as we need, it still crashes in fullscreen mode while doubleclicking the preview but only when using 62 cams, if we use only 50 (group 1 and group 2 ) it works good
- sometimes program crashes on doubleclick
- when we use only 50 cameras it works quite good
-we tried to set camera substream to H265 on newer models but many of them did not appear and the Smartpss was crashing quite often (unusable)

Is there anyone who has some experience with similar setup? Thanks:)

A few comments here, I have some similar setups but all my machines are dedicated to SmartPss only. I have had issues with AMD processors and smart pss and switched to intel I5 or I 7's . All drives are ssd in mine. Check your hard drive space, Smartpss creates a lot of temp files that need to be flushed. Adding that last window of cams is your tipping point. Make sure all your Chipset, CPU, NIC and video drivers are up to date.

The system works with 50 cameras but crashes often with 62cameras, do you have experience with so many cameras on ONE pc with 3 LCDs?

With Hikvision, dahua, etc different software packages.

Each pc contain:
i5 2200
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
Radeon graphic card 512MB

i can show you a good system(prices in Euro because Netherlands ) in my next post.

Could you please explain it more in detail? I´m not sure if I understand correctly... SmartPSS could be run only one instance at one PC, so you have 8 PCs - 9pictures on one PC?

Smartpss run on each pc, but in every version of Smartpss like IE or FF you cam drag and drop live view tab in a new screen on the same pc. So you can drop 27 pictures (3 screens x9 pictures) on one pc.
8 pc’s is 27 pictures x 8 pc’s 216 pictures....

You can only drop 3x liveview tabs in one instance.

So when you have more then 60 cameras on one pc, you make 3 live view tabs with max 21 pictures on each screen... but your pc must have enough ram and graphic speed to calculate continously your camerapictures with 1920x1080 on 25 fps by 4096 kbps.

In my installation(over 40 dahua dvr’s and nvr’s) i always pick some other settings for quicker calculating of the pictures.

I use 1920x1080 by 15 fps and 1024kbps.

And thats why we have that much power...

Well, it seems that we are doing it right, our SMARTPSS is stable with 50 cameras but not with 62, that is the problem so I'm trying to find someone with similar setup to confirm the issue...

One sidenote: i use h.265 or h.264h... when setting up your nvr or dvr to the www, use QoS and VPN, internally there are always issuse with the LAN. Use then a manageble switch with vlans..

thanks fo reply, we are using planet smart poe switches with vlans, but the real bandwith of 62 substreams is relatively low (70Mbps) so I don´t think that it is the issue
