Brad, very sorry this happened to your family. Glad you're physically unharmed. Seems that so matter how deliberately a prospective homeowner may plan to 'buy their way out' of these types of domestic problems by purchasing in an upper income neighborhood which is deemed exclusive and safe - and gets extra attention/quick response from Police patrols.... there's no stopping Murphy. Could be that the previously stable, well-to-do neighbor snaps Amityville style, or the STILL stable, well-to-do neighbor is forced (by shame/obligation) to take back a drug-addict son/daughter into their previously peaceful home... or many other variables. It may be less likely to happen in a nice neighborhood, but when it does it's all the more shocking and disappointing. Again, sorry for your family's peace being disturbed. Keep safe.
