Hello Guys,

I was wondering If any of you has this 8MP LED Camera in use and could give some feedback?

Also any expert Advice would be nice for the whole project ;)
Model: IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV
Installation is planned under the House Roof's Ledge at a height of 4.5 Meters in a tiltet down Position and Cover the whole 15meters below. So basically anything straight from the House to the Fence.

Main Focus:
We have a high nightly animal activity arround the House and often find from animals that is hard to identify. So we want to be able to see small details at night what caused this.
Now since i've done my research, i know that the height, the tiltet angle and the distance are a big challenge for small animal Details at night.

Q1: A 8mp (2.8mm Lens) may not give the desired advantage here at night, as a 2 or 4mp LED Camera would do?

Keep in Mind there is No artificial light nearby.

Q2: Increased LED Range on the camera will provide a even better Image ?

Model: IPC-HFW2439M-AS-LED-B-S2

Claims to have a 40m LED Range while any other LED Models are limited to 30m or less.

Any expert Advice here would be appreciated!

Too many people get fascinated with 4K and the wide angle views that 2.8mm can provide and chase megapixels. But the picture is really no different than taking a pic from the same place with a cell phone - take that picture and then zoom in and it is a pixelated mess.

4.5 meters high for a 2.8mm lens with 8MP will be worthless at night, especially with no light nearby and you will miss all the small details you want to capture. You need a varifocal at that height.
